Once a thriving seaport in Colonial days, Newport became a summer playground for America's wealthiest families in the 19th century. Today it is the privileged traveler who marvels at the splendor of its historic mansions, breathtaking harbor and rustic natural beaches.
The Rosecliff is just one of several fabulous mansions to see. Completed in 1902, Architect Stanford White modeled it after Versailles' Grand Trianon garden retreat. It was featured in the film, The Great Gatsby.
Rough Point Estate is home to one of Newport's most remarkable private collections of art. Built in 1889, it was later purchased by James B. Duke of Duke University. His daughter Doris Duke bequeathed the estate upon her death to the organization she founded to help preserve Newport Rhode Island's architectural heritage.
Our fabled resort city of America's Cup yacht races has architecture from
the Colonial Age, Victorian age, and the famous Gilded Age Mansions. Twelve of these mansions or "summer cottages" are available for public tours. Our limousine tours highlight the world famous Newport
Mansions, as well as Colonial Newport, the breathtaking Ocean Drive along the rocky coastline, beautiful beaches, and our lively waterfront and cultural attractions.
Vehicles available for Newport Tours include stretch limousines, passenger vans (best for viewing), and our 24-p mini buses with PA system, which also great for viewing and comfort.
Newport RI historic tours and excursions include a drive by Newport Mansions. If you desire more detailed, historic account of our rich history, culture and architecture, we suggest using our official tour guide. Tours are designed to visit the Newport mansion of your choice as you discover the city by the sea. We also suggest the best luncheon spots in Newport. If you are arriving by cruise ship, we will meet your tender at the shore. This shore excursion will be private, and customized so that you see the sites of most interest to you.
Pricing for tours from Sunday through Thursday:
Sedan tours for 2-3 people, $95 per hour, plus gratuity — 3 hour minimum, driver's gratuity suggested.
Black 8-passenger limousine (6 — 8 people) $75 per person for 3 hours, $25 per additional hour. Driver's gratuity suggested.
10 to 14p. van (best for viewing) $50 per person for a 3 hour tour. Driver gratuity suggested. Must have minimum of 10.
24-p mini bus with official tour guide: $85 per person, must have 20 person minimum. 4 hours. Driver gratuity suggested.
Vehicles will provide cold bottled water. Box lunch available for purchase from gourmet deli for $10.95. A fresh, delicious sandwich with ham or turkey, served chips, pasta salad, homemade cookie, and beverage.
Our vehicles will pick you up and drop you off at the destination of your choice.
